Robert Scullion continued his fine form as his fifty helped the Thirds hit the summit in Division Four Central with a 63 run over Birstall Village Firsts at Mill Lane.
Scullion’s 53 was the backbone of Sileby’s 158 for 6 in their reduced allocation of 32 overs with Dan Tompkins also continuing a fine season with 44 as the pair shared in a second wicket stand of 83 after the early loss of Chris Bulmer for a duck.
George Smith and Nathan Preston added impetus late on with 23 and 22 not out respectively as the home side posted a decent total given the conditions.
The visitors were never really in the hunt as all of Sileby’s bowlers took wickets with Kieran Chance being the pick with 4-26 while Nathan Preston (3-22) wasn’t far behind as Birstall were bowled out for 95 to go home with just three points.
Sileby, meanwhile, sit top of the table by two points over Maher Stars with Shree Sanatan a further six points back ahead of their away day at second bottom Leicester Banks 2s next weekend.
